Greg Warburton
Greg is an author, teacher, professional counselor, and a life-long athlete, as well as being a dedicated innovator in the fields of mental health and sport performance. Greg remains an ever-evolving pioneer at the forefront of mental and emotional fitness training. He highly values evolving as a human being over merely living comfortably.
Beginning at age 8, when he ran his first 5-miler, Greg has been keenly aware of his innate desire to constantly challenge and push himself mentally, emotionally and physically.Â
Greg grew up living and breathing sports with a father who coached multiple sports. A traumatic leg amputation shortly after completing his first marathon at age 27 didn’t slow him down. With his never-give-up attitude, instead of asking 'Why Me?', he asked himself, What do I have to do now to live a productive life? Â
At that pivotal juncture, Greg returned to Graduate School and became a Mental Health Counselor. His own life experience and a 39-year counseling career with kids, teens and parents enabled him to build the knowledge and skills to develop Warburton's Winning System that transforms athletes into Champions. Greg re-entered the world of Sports Performance 17 years ago to focus on Mental-Game Training. To best serve, he trumpets the need to teach athletes simple and doable skills that result in self-reliant action and consistent success. Greg teaches for athletes to consistently perform their best they must get out of their head and into their body at times!
Greg and his Evolutionary Sports Collective colleagues have been tirelessly working to expand the traditional sports psychology paradigm beyond cognitive-based methods, while state: a complete training system must include higher consciousness practices and body-energy based methods that aren't taught in the classroom, nor on the athletic field. Greg teaches that for athletes to consistently perform their best they must get out of their head and into body-based practices at times! Overall, Greg works with coaches, parents and athletes in middle school, high school and college throughout the United States. Greg is a life-long athlete and practitioner who only teaches methods that he personally uses and knows work well for most people.Â
Greg was an award-winning Instructor at Linn-Benton Community College. From 1993 – 2011, he taught a 3-credit, 30-hour course entitled: Eliminate Self-Defeating Behavior.
For those teaching at the forefront, Greg highlights this fact: Innovative applied methodologies only survive if they produce results.Â
Greg gets consistent Championship results which include 11 National Championships and 1 World Championship and, most recently, while working with Oregon State University baseball beginning in 2006, leading them to a win in their third National Championship in 2018and Southern Oregon University softball won 3 of their last 4 National Championships in 2019, 2021 & 2023.
